of reported cases of
domestic violence occur
in homes with children.

In homes where domestic
violence occurs, there is a

chance of child abuse happening as well, a rate 15 times higher
than the national average.

Even when children are not
physically abused,
they witness

of the assaults occurring
within the home.

Two-thirds of Emily's Place residents are children who have survived horrific domestic abuse situations. Today each child on our campus receives culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care that includes therapeutic, developmental, and family-restoration components. Family activities strengthen trust between parent and child. Licensed counselors help  children understand the trauma they have experienced and provide them with appropriate problem-solving skills. And access to quality daycare, schools, and developmental programming builds social, behavioral, and academic capabilities.

Child-Centered Care

Emily’s Place offers domestic violence survivors a safe place to rebuild their lives.
