A Path to Independence
This journey comprises a series of different steps.
Although fluid in practice, each step leads clients closer
to empowered recovery and financial independence,
from merely surviving to thriving.
Staff establish trust with clients at intake by meeting immediate needs for safety, shelter, transportation, medical care, & more.
Family-like communal living
Private suite for each family
24-hour support staff & security
Counselors provide the weekly therapy sessions clients & their children need to
heal and learn to handle future challenges.
Play therapy for children
Case managers help clients access community resources, from parenting courses to subsidized child care to legal support.
Victim's advocacy partnerships
Financial literacy training
Volunteers become mentors
Within 30 days of entry, clients find a job & enroll in GED or ESL courses or other educational/vocational training.
